PTC

Calorflex PTC cartridge heaters are designed to evaporate water produced by defrosting cycle in a refrigeration sector. Due to different reactions of certain ceramic compounds to temperature variations (PTC effect – Positive Temperature Coefficient), the PTC heater provides heating power which is dependant on the ambient temperature. The maximum power, which is emitted at the lowest temperature, reduce gradually as the temperature rises.

Costs reduction

The use of the PTC eliminates the need for any additional protective devices. This allows not only to reduce the direct cost of the device, but also to save further money by eliminating accessories, electrical connections and cost of the labour.

Safety

In critical working conditions, when all of the water has evaporated from the tank, and the heater is working uncovered, with no direct heat exchange, the power emitted by the heater immediately falls to the minimum, in order to avoid any risk of damaging the heater or the tank.

Easy to assemble

The assembly of the heater simply requires a 17mm hole on one side of the tank (as close as possible to the bottom). The heater is inserted and fixed with a screw nut and a gasket which are supplied separately.
